I don’t want to make this post long, but all I have to say is. I haven’t played AoE 3 in a while so I have little idea atm. There is the usual way to advance as in AoE and AoE 2 from the town centre or some race you have to build monuments to advance to the other race. Which then enables you to use the card which you have in your deck.ĭifferent races have different way to advances into ages. You gain xp and after certain xp gain, you gain a card point. When you make units, make structure, destroy units, destroy structures, explore, etc.
So you have to make a deck which supports your style of how you play AoE 3. You have plenty of card with you(depending on the level of your home city), however you can place only limited number of cards in your deck. There is a concept of Home Colony in AoE 3 and you have deck of cards at your disposal. However AoE differs from both AoE and AoE 2 in many ways. Mechanics wise AoE and AoE 2 doesn’t differ from each other that much. It is just that I personally favour AoE 2 more, and since it was my first AoE game as well. I am not implying that either AoE or AoE 3 is bad. I haven’t played AoE and AoE 3 much, but I played AoE 2 a lot. Even though that may seem repetitive, AoE is still hell of a fun. But then after you get past the initial stage, all you have to do is amass a large army, prevent the enemy from doing it and just obliterate them. Buying computer games during that time was hard and expensive in my region.ĪoE is a really fun game, where you have to manage your resources, micro your units, advance to next age as quickly as possible, try to research technology and make correct decisions properly. After 6 or more years, I bought the AoE collectors Edition which had both the AoE and AoE 2(including all the expansion). I really liked the game, and I like literally played the game 24/7 even though there was only 1 map.

AoE(I am going to use the abbreviation now, since I am too lazy to write the full name) is one of the best and famous RTS franchise( although imho the AoE Online thing hurt the franchise a bit). For those who don’t know what I am talking about, Ages Of Empire is a RTS(Real Time Strategy) game made by Ensemble Studios.
Anyway apart from that, this is Cheeze here and today my post is going to about Ages Of Empires 2 and Ages Of Empires 3.
